I have just yesterday launched a blog on this very subject, calling on my life experience working in this business.
On the front of the blog I offer a free ebook on an aspect of this thread - 'The 10 key steps you need to take to succeed in the music business'. It does cover web 2.0 but also deals with some fundamentals that mosst of the recommended resources here don't cover. I've read most of those you mention!
I go into some basics of what you need to do to succeed rather than detail the how to's of modern promotion and web 2.0 maximisation. For that to really work, you need to learn some basics about songwriting and performing and I hope my eBook tells it like it is in that regard. All too often people trying to make it in this toughest of games, don't get told the harsh reality of their lack of talent.
Be gentle with my blog. I still know nothing about Wordpress and I know some of the links aren't working - bear with me. But do go and get the book. I know it's good.
